Psychiatrist
Location:Everett-South

Job Summary
The Psychiatrist provides primary medical care to all age groups in accordance with the State of Washington Department of Licensing and professional scope of practice.  In addition, the Psychiatrist provides diagnostic and therapeutic psychiatric services to CHC patients, while making reasonable and sound psychiatric assessments and treatment plans.  The Psychiatrist will provide service at all CHC medical clinic locations, attending patients either in person or via telehealth.  
 
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel and Outlook and PowerPoint.

Preferred:
• Bilingual skills.
• Solid clinical procedural skills.

Education
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with specialization in Psychiatry.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in mental health.

Preferred:
• Education and training in specialized psychiatric care.

Experience
• Not less than a 0.5 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of patient care within field of training within the past year.

Preferred:
• Two (2) years of experience as a practicing Psychiatrist.
• CPT-4 coding experience.
• ICD-10 coding experience.
• Healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record and practice management systems experience.
• Experience in a multiple provider medical practice.
• Working with low income, multi-ethnic populations.

Credentials
• Physician license (MD/DO) with the State of Washington.
• Board eligible/Board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) in Psychiatry.  Board certification - must be obtained within one year from date of hire.
• DEA controlled substances registration. 
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) certification - must be obtained within 45 days of employment.
• Successful completion of CHC’s credentialing and privileging review upon hire and recredentialing as appropriate.

Other
• Driver's license with the State of Washington.
• Motor vehicle insurance liability policy, a certificate of deposit, or a liability bond to the required limits.

Job Specific Functions/Performance Expectations:
1. Provides psychiatric care to all age groups in accordance with the State of Washington Department of Licensing and professional scope of practice.
2. Provides support and assistance on psychiatric issues to primary care providers (PCP), Behavioral Health Specialists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and their patients.  Makes recommendations relative to psychiatric strategies and medications.
3. Provides clinical oversight, consultation, and case review for CHC Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
4. Performs follow-up psychiatric and behavioral health consultations by performing complete psychiatric evaluations/assessments, ordering appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures, recording findings in patient chart, and developing behavioral care plans with other providers.
5. Serves as liaison to community specialty behavioral health providers by identifying beneficial community resources and making referrals, educating patients about external resources, and serving as liaison with those providers to assure effective communication.
6. Identifies special needs of CHC patients and works with staff to address those needs.
7. Participates in quality improvement and utilization management programs and activities.
8. Documents encounters in an accurate and timely manner.
9. If providing hospital care, maintains hospital privileges in good standing and practices within the scope of practice approved by the medical staff privileging and credentialing committee(s).
10. Adheres to attendance standards in order to perform the job functions for daily operations and/or continuity of patient care.
